With a solid business model and design expertise, Revology designed a beautiful 100% recyclable chair from sustainably sourced linen fiber, bio-based resin and recycled brass.
To bring the chair from the design to the manufacturing process and to market efficiently, the company needed manufacturing, prototyping and production expertise.
We provided prototyping, production scalability and manufacturing know-how to designers, and found a common language in collaboration.

Revology partnered with us to take the project from mock-up to production. In close collaboration with Revology, we modified and innovated on their original designs to overcome production restraints using our design for manufacturing (DfM) expertise.
We produced quality prototypes, including a system that enabled the chair legs to be easily dismantled and replaced. We also maximized elements of automation.
Without compromising any of the high design aesthetics from the original, we performed unique tooling and manufacturing processes in line with the company’s respect for a circular economy.
Working in close collaboration with Revology, we designed the chair for manufacturability, ensuring process efficiency and product functionality at a cost as sustainable as the materials the chair is made from. The first batch of chairs went to market January 2019. By working with Flex, Revology is now able to deliver a unique piece of furniture that strikes a balance of timeless aesthetics, affordability, and sustainability, with a manufacturability that can meet market demands.
