We understand that creating a more sustainable future requires a clear strategy backed by commitment and accountability. Our sustainability strategy is supported by our commitment to our world, our people and our approach.
Our world and our people
With our world, we are committed to taking long-term, science-based environmental action and to investing in our communities.
With our people, we are committed to setting a strong health and safety agenda and building an inclusive, diverse workplace, representative of every employee group.
Our approach
With our approach, we are committed to ensuring accountable, ethical behavior in everything we do, leading with integrity across our value chain, and actively managing governance and compliance.
Our world – environment
We are committed to significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions across our footprint. We are setting science-based targets for the reduction of CO2e emissions. We also remain committed to the WASH pledge -- implementing access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene at our workplaces – and to the responsible use of water. And we help reduce waste throughout the product lifecycle with our recycling programs and full materials compliance practices.
Our world – community
We are committed to improving the quality of life across the communities we serve, globally. Our commitment to social good is backed by grants from the Flex Foundation, corporate and employee donations and thousands of hours of volunteering.
As a catalyst for positive change in our communities, we make strategic investments in local nonprofit organizations (NGOs) to support natural disaster relief, human rights, educational programs and more.
Our people – health and safety
We manage our work environment responsibly through strong safety practices. We promote a “zero injuries” culture and make sure our employees and contractors have safe housing, and our facilities have health and safety management systems in place. Many of our sites are certified ISO45001:2018. We regularly track, monitor and report our health and safety performance and align to the RBA code of conduct and the Global Business Initiative on human rights.
Our people – inclusion and diversity
With people at the heart of our operations, we foster a culture of inclusion and belonging to enhance employees’ experiences and outcomes. In addition to differences in backgrounds, abilities, identities and beliefs, each person brings unique perspective and talents.
We believe in creating an inclusive, diverse and equitable workforce because it’s the right thing to do – and we also acknowledge the undoubted benefit that diversity of thought and talent brings.
Our people – labor practices
We are committed to certifying each of our manufacturing sites as an RBA factory of choice. This certification is awarded to factories that fully commit to the RBA Code of Conduct and demonstrate leadership through impact and transparency. The code of conduct establishes standards to ensure that working conditions are safe, that workers are treated with respect and dignity, and that business operations are environmentally responsible and conducted ethically. View our Human Rights Policy.
Our approach – customers
We enable sustainable product design and manufacturing for our customers through environmental, social and governance-compliant practices. Industry 4.0 automation and smart factory development reduce repetitive activities to improve productivity, prevent injuries, reduce waste and minimize errors. We also provide resource and energy-efficient product solutions spanning our Industrial business and Nextracker, a Flex company.
Our approach – suppliers
In partnership with our suppliers, we lead with integrity across the supply chain. Our social and environmental practices and training align with the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) requirements, the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI), and our supplier requirements. We use international standards and leverage direct and indirect partnerships to monitor and evaluate supply chain activity.
Our approach – product stewardship
We enable market-leading brands to embed responsible management practices throughout their product lifecycle by delivering value-added fulfillment, repair, refurbishment, and recycling independently and in partnership with our electronic manufacturing services.
We are increasing our circular services capability to reduce scrap, provide zero-landfill product recycling and maximize reuse.
Our approach – ethics and governance
We maintain the highest standards of ethics and governance across the value chain through a culture of integrity and doing the right thing always. View our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics for more. We provide the utmost levels of transparency in all stakeholder communications, driving two-way accountability in our practices.
