Sustainability is in our DNA
Our vision is to be the most trusted global technology, supply chain and manufacturing solutions partner. Sustainability, including environmental, social and corporate governance, is integral to making this vision a reality.
Guided by our purpose and building on nearly 20 years of investment and experience in sustainability, we apply an accountable, ethical approach to doing business, earning and retaining the trust of our stakeholders.
Our disciplined practices stand strong to help address the world’s broader environmental and social challenges, cultivate a workplace that enhances employee experiences and opportunities and lead with integrity throughout the value chain.
Our aim is to make products that improve the world, enable market-leading brands to maintain a competitive, enduring advantage and contribute to a cleaner, healthier future.
As part of our sustainability strategy, we are committed to significantly lowering emissions through science-based targets in partnership with suppliers and customers, investing in our communities, advancing a safe, inclusive and respectful work environment for all and driving ESG-compliant practices with transparency. Our commitments span the entirety of the value chain and align to the UN Global Compact and Sustainable Development Goals.
We focus our commitments, policies, management, goals and initiatives to drive sustainability against a strategic framework centered on our world, our people and our approach and spanning several pillars.
Environment: We are focused on significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions across our footprint in alignment with the Science Based Targets initiative. Taking a circular economy approach, we are charting a path toward zero waste to recycle and repurpose materials throughout the product life cycle. We remain committed to the WASH pledge -- implementing access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene at our workplaces – and to the responsible use of water through reduced consumption and resource-protective practices.
Community: We are committed to improving the quality of life across the communities we serve, globally. Our commitment to social good is backed by grants from the Flex Foundation, corporate and employee donations and thousands of hours of volunteering. As a catalyst for positive change in our communities, we make strategic investments in local nonprofit organizations (NGOs) to support natural disaster relief, human rights, educational programs and more.
Health and safety: We prioritize health and safety and invest in technologies to design risk out of manufacturing, remain in step with safety standards and make factories as safe as possible. We promote a ‘zero injuries’ culture, ensure our workforce has safe housing and our facilities have safety management systems in place. Many of our sites are certified ISO45001:2018. We regularly track, monitor and report our health and safety performance and align to the RBA Code of Conduct and the Global Business Initiative on human rights.
Inclusion and diversity: With people at the heart of our operations, we foster a culture of inclusion, belonging and mutual respect to enhance employees’ experiences and opportunities. We appreciate human differences and cultivate a workplace that inspires every team member to authentically contribute to our vision and do their best work. We believe in creating an inclusive, diverse and equitable workforce because it’s the right thing to do – and we also acknowledge the undoubted advantage that our global workforce’s unique backgrounds, abilities, perspectives and talents bring.
Labor practices: We treat team members with the utmost respect, dignity and care, promote human rights and hold ourselves to the highest standards. We are working to certify each manufacturing site as an RBA factory of choice. This certification acknowledges factories that commit to the RBA Code of Conduct and demonstrate leadership through impact and transparency. We care for our workforce and invest in their growth. Applying a learn-and-adapt mentality empowers them to gain new skills and knowledge, leading to development and preparation for versatile roles.
Customers: We enable sustainable product design and manufacturing through environmental, social and governance-compliant practices. Industry 4.0 automation improves productivity, prevents injuries, reduces waste and minimizes errors. We also provide resource and energy-efficient product solutions. Through our circular economy capabilities, we partner with market-leading brands to embed responsible management practices throughout the product lifecycle by delivering value-added fulfillment, repair, refurbishment, and recycling.
Suppliers: We lead with integrity across the value chain and require our supply chain partners to have strong management systems and transparent reporting, ensuring effective social and environmental activities and ethical practices. Our social and environmental practices align with the Responsible Business Alliance requirements, the Responsible Minerals Initiative, and our supplier requirements. By partnering with local minority suppliers, we improve the economic stability and vitality of those communities. Register to be a diversity supplier.
Ethics: From supplier relationships to customer engagements, we drive an ethical, responsible business through risk mitigation and accountability. We maintain the highest standards of ethics across the value chain through a strong culture of integrity and doing the right thing always. View our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics for more. In addition to local reporting channels, we have a toll-free hotline and online reporting channel available 24 hours, 7 days a week in several languages.
Governance: We apply strong governance standards, policies and practices and drive accountability with our stakeholders through transparency and reporting. We hold ourselves to the highest principles of responsibility and strive to maintain the trust of our stakeholders by continually evaluating and enhancing oversight processes and procedures.
