NASA puts a man on the moon.
Flextronics® is founded in Silicon Valley, California.
Earth Day, a national day to focus on the environment, is launched.
In 2019, 71 Flex sites across 20 countries deliver 320 Earth Day Challenge initiatives.
The first wearable infusion pump was invented by physics student, Dean Kamen.
Today, 85% of the world’s medical device manufacturers partner with Flex.
Erno Rubik, a Hungarian architect, creates the Rubik’s® cube.
Today, Flex employees almost 10,000 employees across six sites in Hungary.

The IBM® PC, using MS-DOS®, is introduced.
Flextronics pioneers a new era of outsourced and automated manufacturing.
Mexico hosts the FIFA World Cup® for the 2nd time.
Today, Flex operations in Mexico cover the equivalent of 871 football fields.
The first handheld mobile phone from Ericsson®, the 'HotLine Pocket', is launched.
Flextronics goes public.
Dell® Computer is incorporated.

The UK’s Tim Berners-Lee creates the World Wide Web.
Flextronics International, Ltd. Is registered in Singapore.
The International Day of People with Disability (PwD) was first celebrated.
In 2019, Flextronics employees support PwD by hosting 100 activities in 31 countries.
Microsoft® released Windows™ 95.
Microsoft® selects Flextronics to manufacture it’s mouse.
The DeepBlue® computer from IBM® beats chess champion Garry Kasparov.
Flextronics is ranked 5th largest contract manufacturer with over $1B in revenue.

USB flash drives are introduced.
Flextronics is ranked third on Industry Week’s list of 100 Best-Managed Companies.
The original Microsoft® Xbox™ is released.
Flextronics expands design and prototyping services in Japan.
The first US 3G cellular network and phones are announced.
Flextronics revenue surpasses $14B as employee numbers top 100,000.

Flex established as a master brand.
The number of women running Fortune 500 companies is at a record high.
