During your apprenticeship, you will benefit from the extensive experience and in-depth expertise of our employees in the production of plastic products for regulated markets.
These include components for medical devices, laboratory consumables, medical disposables, pharmaceutical packaging, drug delivery systems, and consumer goods.
Your apprenticeship at Flex gives you the space to grow both professionally and personally. The commercial apprenticeship at Flex provided me with a very valuable and well-structured foundation for my career. When choosing my training company, it was important to me to select an industry that is versatile and future-oriented.
Thanks to the opportunity to rotate through several departments during my apprenticeship, I gained broad insights into a wide range of business areas. By the end of my training, I had a clear understanding of where my strongest interests lie and in which area I would like to continue developing in the long term.
Building on this experience, two further education paths were particularly relevant to me after completing my commercial apprenticeship. One option was to specialize professionally in procurement, for example through further training as a Purchasing Specialist or by earning the Federal Diploma in Procurement. These qualifications would allow me to deepen my expertise and gradually take on more responsibility within the company.
This year, I made a conscious decision to begin the Diploma in Business Administration (HF). This program is one of the broadest forms of higher vocational education in Switzerland. Rather than focusing on a single discipline, it provides comprehensive business management knowledge that can be applied across various areas of an organization.
I see this as an important step in my personal and professional development, as it allows me to expand my skills and open up new career opportunities for the future. The apprenticeship program at Flex provided me with an excellent entry into professional life. The training was demanding and challenging, but this is exactly what allowed me to develop extensively, both professionally and personally. After completing my apprenticeship as a Certified Polymechanic (EFZ), I was given the opportunity to continue working at the company as a CNC machinist, where I gained valuable hands-on experience.
One of the major advantages is the wide range of further education opportunities available afterward. I chose to attend the Higher Technical College (HF). Over the course of these three years, I was able to continue developing both academically and within the company.
After completing my further education, I was given the opportunity to take on the role of Production Team Leader and Vocational Trainer for Polymechanics. This allowed me to assume additional responsibility within the organization and pass on my knowledge and experience to the next generation.
Of course, a certain amount of good fortune is part of any career path. However, Flex provides strong support to its employees in their professional development and actively encourages them to pursue new opportunities.

An apprenticeship at Flex in Hägglingen can be completed in technical, commercial, or IT fields and lasts between two and four years, depending on the profession.

In technical apprenticeships, you work hands-on with modern equipment and technologies — from design and manufacturing to logistics.
4 years
As a Design Engineer EFZ, you develop and draw technical parts, assemblies, and complete products in 2D and 3D. You work closely with engineers and production teams, create technical drawings, perform calculations, and support the implementation of new solutions.
4 years
As a Polymechanic EFZ, you manufacture precise metal and plastic components, operate CNC machines, and ensure quality using high-precision measuring instruments.
2 years
You support production in the manufacturing of plastic components. Your tasks include operating and monitoring machines, preparing materials, and assisting with assembly, packaging, and quality control.
4 years
You plan, monitor, and optimize the production of plastic components. You set up production systems, select suitable materials, adjust machine parameters, and ensure the highest quality standards.
3 years
In this apprenticeship, you work daily with modern technologies, solve real IT challenges, and gain insights into a company’s IT infrastructure.
3 years
As a Commercial Employee EFZ, you work in various administrative departments and support daily office operations.
3 years
You ensure that goods are received, stored, and prepared correctly, operating modern handling equipment and coordinating logistics processes.
At the beginning, I was unsure, but I was welcomed very well and quickly settled in. What I like most at Flex is the collaboration with other apprentices and employees. Everyone is respectful, helpful, and friendly, and you can always turn to your senior apprentice or supervisors, whose knowledge is extensive. The mix of teamwork and technology is what I enjoy most.

The company offers a very safe working environment, where the well-being and safety of employees are always a priority. Both apprentices and employees benefit from numerous events such as apprentice outings, the apprentice room, BBQs, snow days, or participation in Bike-to-Work.
During the apprenticeship, learners also receive comprehensive guidance for their next career steps. Flex Hägglingen is also very supportive when it comes to equipment, covering part of the laptop and school material costs.
