Chief Human Resources Officer
Phil Ulrich has been named the Chief Human Resources Officer for Flex, the Sketch-to-Scale® solutions provider that designs and builds intelligent products globally. With approximately 200,000 professionals across 30 countries, Flex provides innovative design, engineering, manufacturing, real-time supply chain insight and logistics services to companies of all sizes across industries and markets.
Effective May 13, 2019, Mr. Ulrich will oversee the global Human Resources function for Flex, focused on using human capital solutions to their fullest extent to elevate HR as a strategic influencer and driver of business performance and growth.
Previously, Mr. Ulrich was senior vice president, Human Resources, Electrical Sector for Eaton, a global power management company with over $20 billion in sales, 102,000 employees and a market capitalization in excess of $33 billion. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the global human resources function for the Electrical Sector, with a focus on talent management and development, building functional capability in the sector and driving standardized processes to support growth.
In his previous roles, Mr. Ulrich has helped combine complex organizations, managed labor strategy and negotiations, onboarded tens of thousands of employees for greenfield plants, and implemented business-centric HR organizations.
Ulrich joined Eaton as part of the Cooper Industries acquisition in 2012 and was named Human Resources leader for the integration team. He joined Cooper in 1995 and held a series of progressively important leadership positions for both Cooper Industries and Honeywell International.
Ulrich holds a master’s degree in industrial/organization psychology from Clemson University, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Presbyterian College.
